ADFAC announces award winners
Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties has announced that community volunteers James and Sheila Michel will receive the Bill Wilcox Bow Tie Award.
This year’s theme, “Passport to Purpose,” celebrates the Michels’ commitment to the community and their love of travel.
They will be honored at the Bow Tie event and fundraiser on the evening of Nov. 16 at the DoubleTree in Oak Ridge. The event will feature appetizers, a cash bar, dinner, entertainment, and a live auction.
Event coordinators are currently seeking sponsorships for this year’s event. Sponsorships range from $500 to $5,000 and offer a variety of benefits.
Businesses, organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate. Interested parties should contact bowtie@adfac.org for more information.
The Bow Tie Award, established in 2013, honors the late Bill Wilcox’s dedication to the community by recognizing local leaders.
Proceeds from the Bow Tie event support the short- and long-term stability of ADFAC and its charitable programs. In addition to purchasing tickets, donations are a popular way to celebrate the honorees and support ADFAC.
Individual tickets will be available starting in September.
