Leffew joins Lady Dragons staff
A longtime coach has joined the Clinton High School girls basketball coaching staff.
Head Coach Alicia Daugherty has announced that she has hired former Clinton Middle School boys Coach Duane Leffew.
Daugherty announced the addition of Leffew to her staff in a post on Facebook last week.
“I’m so excited to welcome Duane Leffew to the Lady Dragon basketball team,” Daugherty said. “He has a wealth of knowledge to bring to our girls, and has already studied game film from last season to help the girls get to where they need to be.”
Leffew has nearly five decades of coaching experience in football, softball, and girls and boys basketball.
Leffew coached the Hawks for four seasons. He’s also coached girls basketball at Oliver Springs High School. He was with the Lady Bobcats for 18 seasons.
Leffew coached the Tennessee Raiders, one of the state’s top AAU teams, for 20 years.
He’s coached in two TSSAA state tournaments and won four AAU state titles. He’s also been in the AAU national tournament 18 times.
In addition, he’s mentored six Southeastern Conference players and one WNBA player in a 38-year coaching career on the hardwood.
He’s coached softball for 10 years and football for nine years.
