All-Association teams named
Nine area high school players were honored when the East Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association named its All-Association teams recently.
Oak Ridge, which had a banner year in 2024, was the only local team to have players earn first-team recognition.
The Wildcats, who made their first state tournament appearance in more than five decades, were represented on the first team by Caden Black, Kam Welch and Mikee Teasley.
Oak Ridge won its first district tournament championship since 2021, claiming the District 3-4A tournament title with a perfect run as the No. 3 seed.
ORHS was also the Region 2-4A runner-up, and made its way to Sevier County, where it won a state sectional series for the first time in school history.
Oak Ridge had two players receive second-team honors/honorable mentions in Parker Free and Peyton Witter.
Both were freshmen last season.
Clinton had Harrison Shelton
and Isaiah Slaven
earn second-team honors/honorable mentions.
Anderson County’s Alex Bond and Luke Lankford received second-team honors/honorable mentions.
