Sip of Summerfest on tap for this Friday; Market Night is Saturday
The annual Sip of Summerfest event is set for 6-10 p.m. this Friday (Aug. 9), and for the first time it will be at the Kincaid House, 710 Eagle Bend Road.
It’s the third in a series of annual summer beer-tasting events sponsored by the Historic Downtown Clinton organization, and will feature tastings of beer from a variety of area breweries, along with live music, contests and more.
Also coming this week (Aug. 8) is the next “Tasty Thursday Food Truck Rally” from 5-8 p.m. at 425 Eagle Bend Road, in the vacant
lot next to the former Real Dry Cleaners building.
Then, from 5-10 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 10), August Market Night will be held downtown. This event will be a repeat of the recent July Market Night, sponsored by the Historic Downtown Clinton Merchants Association, a separate organization.
For the event, Market Street will be blocked to vehicular traffic for the evening, and there will be street merchandise and food vendors, as well as specials in the downtown stores, which will remain open all evening.
In the Sip of Summerfest, “Local breweries gather to bring the best beer to Clinton,” the downtown group says. “Ticket price includes beer, food and music entertainment brought to you by The Ooten Law Firm.”
There will also be a 40-minute Tennessee whiskey/bourbon “blind” tasting.
Music will be provided by The Imaginaries, described as an Americana band formed in the open plains of Oklahoma. It consists of husband and wife duo Shane Henry (guitar, vocals) and Maggie McClure.
The Imaginaries group “fuses blues/rock grit with effortless harmonies,” an announcement said.
“They have opened for B.B. King, Sara Bareilles, Edwin McCain and more, and they even wrote and produced the soundtrack for the Netflix feature film ‘A Cowgirl’s Song,’” the release said.
Participating in the Sip of Summerfest will be Yee Haw Brewing Co., Orange Hat Brewing Co., Clinch River Brewing, Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. (Chattanooga), Shulz Brau Brewing Co., Savannah Bee Company, Wiseacre Brewing Co. (Memphis), Rhine Geist Cincy-Made, Gatlinburg Brewing Co., Iron Forge Brewing Co., and Hops and Hounds.
Tickets for that event are on sale now, and prices run $25 (for designated rivers), $50, and $81.88.
