Rams remain perfect, defeat CAK 28-13
The Robertsville Middle School football team kept its perfect record intact last week, securing a 28-13 victory over Christian Academy of Knoxville at Warrior Stadium.
While the Rams didn’t have their best performance, they did well enough to earn a double-digit win and maintain their top spot in the Tennessee Valley Athletic Conference standings.
“We didn’t play our best game, but we don’t always have to play our best,” said Robertsville Coach Ron Gray. “We just have to be good enough to win. We had way too many penalties, and our defense was a bit of a bend-but-don’t-break situation. We had 140 yards in penalties and two touchdowns called back. Kamoni Willis had a touchdown run called back by a penalty, and it was an outstanding run.”
Quarterback Josiah McClure led the Rams with 206 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Lemiere Porter added 50 yards and two touchdowns. Robertsville averaged 13.2 yards per rush.
Despite some struggles on defense, several Robertsville players delivered standout performances.
Inside linebacker Dominic Campbell had seven tackles, while Kamoni Willis, Bentley Pettus, and Kashton Seaman each recorded four tackles. Seaman also had an interception, and Everitt Hartman recovered a CAK fumble.
