Moody, Crisp, McGhee earn top district honors

The 2024 high school volleyball regular season has concluded, and the district tournaments are in the rearview mirror.

Clinton High School went undefeated in District 3-AAA play, winning the district tournament championship for the second- consecutive season.

Oak Ridge, the No. 3 seed, was the tournament runner-up. Both the Lady Dragons and Lady Wildcats were represented on the All-District 3-AAA team, which was selected by the league’s coaches.

Clinton junior Josie Moody was named Most Valuable Player, and McKenzie Crisp was voted Defensive Player of the Year. The Lady Dragons’ Parker McGhee earned Blocker of the Year honors.

Oak Ridge’s Peyton Uptgraft was named Setter of the Year for the second-consecutive season.

Clinton had three all-district selections: Keagan Skaggs, Ellie Murrell, and Lanee Carmichael.

The Lady Wildcats had two players earn all-district honors, with Christian McGinnis and Marissa Kenworthy recognized for their regular-season performances.

Clinton’s Jailie Rodd and Oak Ridge’s Maggie Williams received honorable mentions.

Kenworthy and Clinton’s McKenzie Crisp were also named to the league’s All-Academic Team.
