A steady stream of people flowed through the parking lot and inside the building during last Saturday’s Christmas open-house event at the Anderson County Farmers Co-op on South Charles G. Seivers Boulevard in Clinton.
The co-op had animals. Christmas decorations, and holiday merchandise on display outside and inside the store, including a petting zoo of extra-cute animals from CW Farms in Dutch Valley.
Children were treated to a visit by Santa inside the store, and were able to pet and even give small cones of feed to goats and an alpaca in the zoo enclosure in the parking lot.
Refreshments were available inside the store, which was decorated with several well-lighted Christmas trees and other trappings of the season.
Staff estimated that hundreds of people turned out for the event, which was one of the earliest of its kind for the 2024 holiday season.
