Holiday farmers market on Saturdays beginning Dec. 7
Oak Ridge Farmers Market is presenting the 2024 Farm Holiday Market on Saturdays, Dec. 7, 14 and 21, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
“Find unique gifts handmade by local artisans along with winter produce, homemade baked goods, meats, and more,” an official notice said.
“There’s no better way to enjoy the holiday season than by supporting local businesses,” the announcement stated.
Free Medical Clinic offering ice skating Dec. 21
Get ready to try skating at the Free Meical Clinic’s one-day Synthetic Ice Rink at the Oak Ridge High School tennis courts Saturday, Dec. 21.
If you’re renting skates, adults can skate for $15 and children under 12 for $10.
If you bring your own skates, you can get a $3 discount.
New Year’s Eve ball drop at A.K. Bissell Park
Oak Ridge will once again host a New Year’s Eve ball drop event starting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, at A.K. Bissell Park, 1403 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
The free event will feature live bands, food trucks, ice skating, a ball drop at midnight, and fireworks.
New Year’s Day guided hike at UT Arboretum
Join in-person at the UT Arboretum Auditorium on Wednesday, Jan. 1, for a New Year’s Day hike guided by members of the UT Arboretum Society.
Meet at 9 a.m. at the UT Arboretum Auditorium for hot chocolate to warm up around the fire. The hike will begin at 9:30 a.m.
No registration is needed. Do not bring pets.
