Rocky Top Christmas parade draws a crowd on chilly night

With temperature hovering around 25 degrees, hundreds of people lined Main Street in Rocky Top last Friday night for the annual Christmas parade, under clear skies.

Sponsored by the Rocky Top Chamber of Commerce and the city, the parade began at 7 p.m. in the area of Lake City Middle School, and moved down Main Street to the Interstate 75, Exit 129 interchange.

The 2024 parade winners were:



Floats:

• First place: Clear Branch Baptist Church (repeat from 2023).

• Second place: Myers Yardscapes.

• Third place: Coal Creek Ghostbusters.



Groups:

• First place: Lake City Middle School Cheerleaders.

• Second place: Grosam E-Z Tows.

Trucks and Cars:

• First place: Dewayne Craig.

• Second place: Donnie Duncan.

• Third place: Brad Shadrick.

Tractor:

• Alex Flatford (repeat from 2023).



ATV/UTV:

• Kristen Parson.



Mayor’s Award:

• Charlie Smith of Village Florist in Rocky Top.
