Rams battle through tough game stretch
As the 2024-25 middle school basketball season reaches its midway point, the Robertsville Middle School team has won 10 of its first 12 games.
However, the Rams have hit a rough patch, dropping two of their last three contests.
On Monday, Dec. 2, they fell 41-36 in a conference matchup against Norris.
“We just didn’t come ready to play against Norris, and Norris outplayed us,” Robertsville Coach John Spratling said. “Norris led pretty much the whole game. We came back in the third quarter and took the lead, but they came back in the fourth quarter and were able to pull it out.”
La’Miere Porter led the Rams with 15 points in the loss.
The Rams dominated Holston 53-20 on Monday, Nov. 25, in East Knox County.
“Holston didn’t provide us with much competition,” Spratling said. “Everybody [who] dressed for us scored.”
Porter and Kashton Seaman each tallied 12 points against the Hurricanes. Josiah McClure added 10 points, while Tre Threat chipped in eight.
Robertsville (10-2 overall, 3-1 conference) also faced Farragut on Nov. 25, but came up short, losing 38-30.
The Rams took on LaFollette on Monday, although results were unavailable at press time.
They are set to play Cherokee on Thursday before facing crosstown rival Jefferson at Wildcat Arena on Saturday.
