Bradley, Lee lead Robertsville to win over Norris

The Robertsville Middle School girls basketball team cruised to a 48-19 victory over Norris in its lone game last week on Monday, Dec. 2.

The Lady Rams (4-3) are gearing up for a busy schedule this week, with three games on tap.

They played LaFollette on Monday (results were unavailable at press time).

Robertsville will host Cherokee on Thursday, and will face crosstown-rival Jefferson at Wildcat Arena Saturday.

After a light two-week schedule that included just two games, Lady Rams Coach David Scott is eager to see his team back in action.

“I’m looking forward to this week so we can do some things that we’ve been working on in practice,” Scott said. “We have a young team, and we’ve been preaching valuing the basketball.

“Taking care of the basketball is important, and guarding the basketball is important. Every defensive possession matters.

“When we had back-to-back losses to Jacksboro and Farragut before Thanksgiving, we had a wake-up call,” he said. “We led at halftime in both games, but we had to learn that we have to play four quarters.”

Bella Bradley and Azariah Lee carried the scoring load for Robertsville against Norris, combining for 40 of the team’s 48 points. Bradley led all scorers with 25 points; Lee added 15.

In their final game before the Thanksgiving break, the Lady Rams traveled to East Knox County and routed Holston 53-23.

Lee paced Robertsville with 21 points, and Bradley contributed 16.
