Cat Café now open

Autumn Ramsey and Jackson Christiansen enjoy drinks at their new business, Cleo’s Cat Café. The café is at 134 Bus Terminal Road in Oak Ridge.
A new Oak Ridge business lets patrons sip coffee, play video and board games, and adopt cats.

Cleo’s Cat Café opened in November at 134 Bus Terminal Road.

“My partner in business and in life, Autumn, had dreamed of opening a cat cafe for years,” said manager Jackson Christiansen, crediting his assistant manager, Autumn Ramsey.

“And it seemed like the most-amazing business, so we went headfirst into it and are so glad that we did,” he said.

The café’s cats come from Halo’s Home Animal Rescue and Ideal Veterinary Clinic.

To adopt a cat at the cafe, the adopter must fill out an adoption application and pay a $150 fee.

“The most challenging thing was just getting the business officially opened,” Christiansen said.

“We completely renovated the space and have been figuring out everything from marketing to coffee-making as we went along.

“The most-rewarding part is seeing cats find loving homes, and how overjoyed people are about their newest addition to their family.”
