Johnson gets 600th rebound Lady Wildcats extend winning streak
Jenna Johnson reached a career basketball milestone last week.
The senior forward/center for the Lady Wildcats pulled down her 600th career rebound in Oak Ridge’s 90-38 District 3-4A win over Knoxville Central.
She grabbed eight rebounds and scored 15 points in the game at Wildcat Arena.
Ayana Porter led the Lady Wildcats with 22 points, seven rebounds, and seven steals.
Ze’Yana Stewart added a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
The victory improved Oak Ridge’s record to 14-3 overall and 6-0 in the district.
The Lady Wildcats outlasted Powell 42-31 on Thursday in a makeup game at the Jeff Hunter Gymnasium in Powell.
The game had been rescheduled from Jan. 10.
Stewart paced Oak Ridge with 15 points and four rebounds, while Johnson contributed 11 points, five rebounds, and a steal.
Porter added seven points and four rebounds.
The Lady Wildcats opened the game with an early 10-0 lead and held on for the win.
Oak Ridge notched a key district road victory, defeating Campbell County 62-33 on Tuesday in Jacksboro.
Stewart led the charge with 15 points, seven steals, and five rebounds.
Evalya Mitchell chipped in 14 points and two rebounds, while Porter recorded eight points and three boards.
Oak Ridge was scheduled to play at Knoxville Halls on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats are scheduled to host Karns on Friday at 6 p.m. at Wildcat Arena.
