CMS Hawks eye postseason, finish regular season 18-2

Clinton Middle School’s boys basketball team capped the 2024-25 regular season with a thrilling 31-30 victory over Maryville.

Logan Hill and Benji Yarbrough led the Hawks in scoring, with Hill posting 14 points and Yarbrough adding 12 in the season finale.

The area postseason tournament began Saturday.

Clinton, which earned an opening-round bye, played its first postseason game Tuesday against Union Grove. Results were unavailable at press time.

The Hawks closed the regular season with an impressive 18-2 overall record.

Their only losses came against top-seeded Seymour and Horace Maynard.

Clinton reached the state sectional tournament last season, and is aiming for another deep postseason run this year.

Head Coach Bobby Williams is optimistic about the Hawks’ prospects.

“I’m excited, and I really think that we have a chance to make some noise,” Williams said.
