Dragons wrestlers claim top spots at Teegan Fisher Classic

Clinton’s Bryson Bunch won the championship in the 144-pound weight class at the Teegan Fisher Classic.
The Lady Dragons participated in the girls’ tournament in Alcoa, while many of the Dragons’ freshmen and sophomores competed in a junior varsity tournament.
Several boys who wrestled at the JV level have also logged time on the varsity squad this season.
“We saw some good things from our girls and some of our young kids,” Clinton Coach Channing McDonald said.
“All of our kids who wrestled in the JV tournament have wrestled varsity this season,” he said. “The only wrestler who didn’t compete for us was (senior) Dalton Kendall.”
In the girls’ tournament, Ace Johnson captured the 185-pound championship.
Zaira Feeney also brought home gold, winning the title in the 126-pound division. Brennan Griffith rounded out the day for the Lady Dragons with a third-place showing in the 235-pound weight class.
In the boys’ tournament, Bryson Bunch (144 pounds) and Jordan Smith (175) claimed titles. Tucker Brown (160), Keenan Hoskins (126), and Jonah Hoskins (190) each earned second-place finishes, while Jake Brown (170) took third in his division.
