Oak Ridge girls roll through busy week

The Oak Ridge High School girls basketball team wrapped up a hectic week with its seventh-consecutive victory.

The Lady Wildcats (17-3 overall, 8-0 in District 3-4A) earned a 74-57 win Saturday night at Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, capping off a week that included three road victories.

Ze’Yana Stewart led Oak Ridge with 25 points against the Lady Patriots, along with four rebounds and two steals.

Ayana Porter recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 steals. Euleesha Mitchell contributed 14 points, four steals, and two rebounds.

The Lady Wildcats’ triumph in Murfreesboro came less than 24 hours after a 72-48 district win at Karns on Friday night.

Mitchell scored a team-high 21 points in that contest, while Jenna Johnson added 19. Stewart had 14 points, and Porter finished with 11.

Oak Ridge opened the week with a 76-43 district win at Knoxville Halls on Jan. 21.

Porter led the way with 20 points, seven steals, and five rebounds. Stewart chipped in 13 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Johnson added 12 points and four rebounds, while Paige Lawing contributed 10 points and three boards.

The Lady Wildcats will close out district play this week.

They hosted Powell at Wildcat Arena on Tuesday night, but results were unavailable at press time.

Oak Ridge will host Campbell County in its regular-season district finale Friday night.

Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
