Whether you want to cross-stitch, bead, crochet, knit or tatt, Clinch River Needleworkers is a place to work alongside likeminded crafters.

After meeting at other venues in the past, the group now meets in the Clinton Public Library’s conference room at 118 S. Hicks St.

The group meets every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon, with Saturday the more popular day.

Gail Sharp started the group two years ago, member Pat Stonecipher told The Courier News.

Currently, the Clinch River Needleworkers Facebook group has

130 followers. Stonecipher said the

group is for beginners looking for people to teach them, as well as for experienced people looking to continue work on their projects.

It’s “anyone with a needle, no matter what kind it is,” Stonecipher said of the group’s participants, although she said most at present do cross-stitching.

“I think people are looking for a way to connect to the past,” she said, adding that it’s also a way to connect with like-minded people in the present and “a way to keep your hands busy.”

“I always like to say it’s like my therapy, and it’s cheaper than therapy for me,” she said.
