Lifeguard training classed offered
The Clinton Community Center will be offering an American Red Cross lifeguard training class March 10-13.
Interested patrons must be at least 15 years old and complete a pre-requisite swim evaluation prior to signing up for the class.

Blood drive to be held Friday
A blood drive will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, at the American Museum of Science and Energy, 115 Main St. E. in Oak Ridge.
If you wish to donate blood, drink an extra 16 ounces of water or other non-alcoholic drink before arriving; eat a healthy meal, avoiding fatty foods like hamburgers, fries or ice cream; and wear a shirt with sleeves that you can roll up above your elbows.
Friends & family hike is Saturday
The UT Arboretum presents the Friends and Family Third Saturday Hike at 9 a.m. Feb. 15.
No registration is required. No pets are allowed.
Meet at the kiosk by the Visitors Center at the UT Arboretum, 901 South Illinois Ave.
“Enjoy time with family and make new friends in the community,” an announcement stated.
‘The Addams Family’ to be presented
The Oak Ridge High School Masquers club will present “The Addams Family” at Oak Ridge High School on Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., March 1 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and March 3 at 2 p.m.

Civil Air Patrol
open house
An open house event at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, will give people who are interested in aviation or community service a chance to learn more about the Civil Air Patrol and what it offers.
The event will take place at the Oak Ridge Chamber Joyce Conference Room at 1400 Oak Ridge Turnpike.
Light snacks and refreshments are provided.
“In Civil Air Patrol, cadets focus on emergency services, aerospace education, safety, character development, leadership and fitness,” an announcement said.
“As [members] learn about these areas, they advance through a series of achievement levels, earning honors and increased responsibilities along the way.”
During the event, attendees will have the chance to meet with members of the Oak Ridge Composite Squadron and learn more about their experiences in the group.
