Greenhalgh, relay squads spark strong showing

The boys 4x400-meter relay team captured a first-place finish, as Tyree Porter, Will Pressley, Patrik Vodopivek and Mason Greenhalgh clocked in at 3 minutes, 30.60 seconds.
The 4x800 relay squad — Greenhalgh, Vodopivek, Rhett Hovater and Nolan Riden — also won with a time of 8:14.97.
Greenhalgh added an individual title in the 800-meter run, finishing in 1:54.55. He also took third in the 1,500 with a time of 4:17.60.
Oak Ridge landed four Top 10 finishers in the long jump. Porter placed fourth (18 feet, 5 inches), Grayson Brody was eighth (17-5.5), Jakob Holman took ninth (16-11.5) and Liam Gerber finished 10th (16-5).
Holman also earned second in the triple jump (40-1) and finished sixth in the high jump (5-4).
James Phillips placed sixth in both the triple jump (35-0) and the 400-meter dash (55.38).
King Sandoval finished fifth in the shot put (43-10) and seventh in the discus (128-11).
Hudson Lee was 10th in the shot (37-9), and Brian Gonzalez placed 10th in the discus (117-7).
Ethan Eubanks set a school record in the javelin with a throw of 106-2, good for seventh place.
In the 2,000-meter steeplechase, Ifeoluva Abiodun-Adeniyi came in 10th with a time of 11:18.25.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Wildcats won the 4x800-meter relay. The team of Emily Edwards, Natalie Adams, Lily Tice and Dylan Job posted a time of 9:59.06.
In the high jump, Edwards and Amaijah Bishop tied for third (4-10), while Zye Watson placed 10th (4-6).
Tice claimed fifth in the steeplechase (8:44.24) and ninth in the javelin (57-8).
Edwards took seventh in the 800 (2:26.51), and Brooke Taylor finished seventh in the 1,600 (5:59.74).
