Clinton FC battles, but drops match to Berean Christian
It was a tough night on the pitch for Clinton FC early last week as it lost 5-2 to Berean Christian School.
The Eagles defeated Clinton in Knoxville on Monday, March 31.
“It was a tough game, and they’re probably the most skilled team we’ve played all year,” Clinton Coach Jake McMurray said. “Our team played hard, and we kept it close. I’m proud of them.
“It was 3-1 late in the game,” he said. “I think they had five eighth-graders, and we’re all sixth- and seventh-graders. This is a really tough league when you don’t have eighth-graders.”
Juan Camillo Zorro Castano scored both goals for Clinton FC, while Tucker Nielson added an assist.
Clinton faced Cedar Bluff Yellow on Monday. Results were not available at press time.
