Free event, bike helmet

Court Appointed Special Advocates of the Tennessee Heartland will hold a free event April 23 from 2-4 p.m. at Oak Ridge’s Historic Jackson Square. The event marks Child Abuse Prevention Month, and will include free treats and bicycle helmets for children. Pilot Club of Oak Ridge provided the helmets.



ADFAC hosting murder-mystery fundraiser

Aid to Distressed Families of Appalachian Counties is holding “A Totally ’80s Murder Mystery” fundraiser at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Calhoun’s Oak Ridge. Tickets are $100.

The event includes a 50/50 raffle and live auction. Wear your best or worst 1980s outfit, or dress as a celebrity from the ’80s. Prizes will go to the first to solve the murder, best costume and best performance.
