Veterans breakfast will be this Saturday


Donna and Chalice Bingham attended the February veterans appreciation breakfast. Chalice Bingham is a U.S. Navy veteran. He signed up to join the Navy in spring 1961 during his senior year in high school.
Military veterans from Anderson County are invited to come together at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (May 10) for the monthly veterans breakfast at the Clinton Community Center.

This month’s event is sponsored by is sponsored this month by Big Orange Tree Service and Oliver Springs Mayor Jason Stiltner.

Ebony Capshaw will be May’s doughnut sponsor.

Many generous donors are also recognized for providing monthly door prizes.

At the Community Center, 101 S. Hicks St., the chow line will open at 8:30 a.m., and there will be a brief program at 9 honoring veterans.

All of the veterans breakfasts are held to recognize and honor local veterans and their families for their service to the United States.

Anderson County residents and community volunteers work together to make the breakfasts a free monthly event that will allow veterans of all ages and branches to fellowship and share stories together.

Veterans are welcome to bring spouses, family, or friends with them.

The city of Clinton is recognized as a special sponsor for hosting the monthly location and setup. Local media are especially recognized for their role in letting veterans know about the breakfast each month.
