Greene, Stewart to continue hoops careers in college
Two Oak Ridge High School basketball players will continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
Shamar Greene and Ze’Yana Stewart both recently finalized their plans to play college basketball.
Greene, a post player and recent Oak Ridge graduate, signed with Tusculum University in Greeneville.
He helped the Wildcats reach the Class 4A state championship game in March. Oak Ridge went undefeated in District 3-4A play, won the district and Region
2-4A tournaments, and edged Sevier County in the state sectionals.
He plans to major in business.
Stewart, a guard for the Lady Wildcats, signed with Walters State Community College in Morristown on June 4. An all-district performer, she helped Oak Ridge win its 10th-consecutive district tournament title and reach the Class 4A state quarterfinals after claiming the region championship.
She will major in pre-chemistry.
