Paddling event scheduled July 12
The Pellissippi Blueway Coalition is sponsoring a paddling event on Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m. till noon at Oak Ridge Melton Lake Park.
The group will explore the lake, islands, and coves below the marina area.
Meet at the Adventure Outdoor Center at 695 Melton Lake Drive. Bring your kayak, canoe, or paddle board, life jacket, water, snacks and insect repellent.
If needed, boats can be rented at the site through River Run Outfitters at riverrunoutfittersllc@gmail.com or 865-209-4367.

Fall softball registration now open in Oak Ridge
Team registration for the city of Oak Ridge Department of Recreation and Parks’ 2025 fall softball season is open.
A men’s league will be offered on Monday evenings, with the possibility of Thursday make-up games.
A recreational and a competitive co-ed league will be offered on Tuesday evenings, with the possibility of Thursday make-up games.
Teams must complete registration paperwork and pay the applicable registration fees by Saturday, July 19.
Games are scheduled to begin during the week of Aug. 4.
