McBride receives 2025 Bowl of Hygeia Award

The Tennessee Pharmacists Association has named Dr. Jimmy McBride recipient of the 2025 Bowl of Hygeia Award, one of pharmacy’s highest honors for outstanding community service.

McBride, a 1991 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy, is the longtime owner and pharmacist at Clinton Drug Store.

He was recognized for his dedication to the profession, his leadership and his decades of service to the community.

His honors include the 1995 Young Pharmacist of the Year award, the 2002 Innovative Pharmacy Practice award, and serving as president of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association in 2014-15.

In addition to his professional achievements, McBride has held numerous civic roles in Clinton and Anderson County, including serving on the Anderson County Board of Health and the Anderson County Drug Court, chairing the Anderson County Health Improvement Committee, and serving as Clinton’s vice mayor.

Established in 1958, the Bowl of Hygeia Award is presented annually by state pharmacy associations to pharmacists with exceptional records of civic leadership and community involvement.

The Tennessee Pharmacists Association advocates for the profession and promotes excellence in pharmacy through education, leadership development, and recognition of exceptional service.
