Veterans breakfast, vaccine clinic is Saturday at Clinton Community Center

At August’s veterans breakfast, U.S. Navy veteran Chalice Bingham displays a plaque he was presented at a recent reunion for those serving on the USS Tutuila. Bingham authored a book for his family and friends titled “The Journey of Chalice,” which details his family history and his own life, including his military service.
Military veterans from Anderson County are invited to come together Saturday (Sept. 13) for the monthly Veterans Breakfast at the Clinton Community Center, which this month will also feature a vaccine clinic.

Kroger Health will be on hand offering vaccines including flu, COVID, pneumonia, RSV, shingles, tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis, and hepatitis A and B.

This month’s breakfast is sponsored Anderson County American Legion Post 172, while the doughnut sponsor for the event is the Veterans of Foreign War Post 12051 Auxiliary.

The chow line opens at 8:30 a.m. and there will be a program at 9 a.m. honoring veterans.

These breakfasts are held to recognize and honor local veterans and their families for their service to the United States.

Many generous donors are also recognized for providing monthly door prizes.

Anderson County residents and community volunteers are working together to make the breakfasts a free monthly event that will allow veterans of all ages and branches to fellowship and share stories together.

Veterans are welcome to bring spouses, family or friends.

The city of Clinton is recognized as a special sponsor for hosting the monthly location and setup. Local media are especially recognized for their role in letting veterans know about the breakfasts each month.
