Next-gen campus
Claxton Elementary’s new building taking shape

The new Claxton Elementay School is progressing at the former Crossroads Christ Fellowship Church site in Claxton. The school’s completion is predicted to be in February 2027.
Claxton School Update
Director of Schools Tim Parrott and Ryan Sutton of ACTV presented aerial footage of construction at the new Claxton Elementary site, located at the former Crossroads Christ Fellowship Church property.
The project includes several additions to the existing church building, which are now under construction.
Parrott said he expects the new school to be completed by February 2027. The facility will replace the current Claxton Elementary campus just down the road.
A new entrance to the school from Raccoon Road is also being built.
New Scoreboards Approved
Anderson County High School will soon get two new LED-lit scoreboards, each measuring five by 10 feet.
Total cost is $60,000, with Clayton Homes covering half the expense — $30,000 spread over five years — and the school system funding the rest.
The board approved the purchase unanimously.
“We know that financial decisions can be difficult, but it’s great knowing that you support ‘Every Student, Every Day,’” head boys basketball Coach Jordan Jeffers said in a letter to the board. “With this facility upgrade, we are truly living by that statement.”
Excellence in
Education Award
Scott Bacon presented the city-county Education Foundation’s award for Excellence in Education to fifth-grade teacher Ken Bulecheck of Andersonville Elementary School.
“A dedicated veteran and a passionate educator, Mr. Bulecheck has spent the past 14 years shaping young minds in our community,” a news release stated. “His students consistently achieve remarkable success, with math scores ranking fourth in the state and among the strongest in the nation.”
