Historic run for Norris Both middle school teams earn state berths

The season’s final meet was held at Weakley Park in Clarksville.
For the Lady Senators, eighth-grader Ella Tyler finished second overall, completing the two-mile course in 12 minutes, 18.41 seconds.
Norris Coach Derek Wallace said he was thrilled with her effort.
“I wish she would’ve won it, but you can’t really be upset because she finished second,” Wallace said. “The girl who beat her was second last year, so I guess she was on a mission.”
Kaidence Mooney finished 57th in 15:22.24, followed closely by Eloise Depner in 59th (15:23.02). Montgomery Bingham placed 63rd (15:28.50), Corrine Edrington was 65th (15:36.36), Lila Sharon 73rd (15:45.76), and Arya Wallace 89th (16:34.64).
For the Senators, Christian Wolfley led the way with a 66th-place finish in 13:06.50. Fisher Clark was 75th (13:21.13), Gillen Gossett 76th (13:21.90), and Kellen Thurman 83rd (13:36.41).
Kolten Showers placed 108th in 14:54.41, while Evan Short was 118th (15:57.86) and Parker Zaruba finished 124th (16:45.99).
