Clinton High School’s girls soccer team closed out its 2025 regular season with a 2-1 victory over Claiborne on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at home.

It marked the third win of the year for the Lady Dragons, who improved to 3-5-1 heading into the District 4-AA tournament.

Clinton was scheduled to open tournament play Monday at Scott, although results were not available at press time.

Ayana Miller and Riley Sharp each scored for the Lady Dragons.

“We had a good performance from Ayana Miller, who scored a goal and had a great game in the midfield, as well as Shae York, who played very well on defense,” Clinton Coach Sylvain David said.

Freshman goalkeeper Lenah Hernandez made her first start in goal and came up big late, making a clutch save with two minutes remaining to help CHS hang on for the win.

“Lenah was playing goalkeeper for the first time, and she made a crucial save to keep us ahead,” David said.
