After renovations, the Clinton Community Center’s bowling alley is open again.

A grand opening and ribbon cutting took place on Tuesday, Oct. 13. That day, the alley was open to bowling leagues, though not yet to the public as it is now. Already, however, the league participants were happy with the renovations.

“I love it,” said bowler Deb Franklin that Tuesday. “We all love it.”

The renovations involve new ball returns, gutters, gutter guards, masking and automated score keeping.

A $2 rental fee covers shoes. Open Bowling games are $3 per game. Senior games for people 55 and over are $1.50 per game.

The hours for the new Clinton Community Center Bowling Lanes are as follows.

Summer Hours from April through November are:

• 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday open bowl

• 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Fridays senior bowl

• 3 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Fridays open bowl.

Winter hours from December through March are:

• 5 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday open bowl

• 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays senior bowl

• 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fridays open bowl

• 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturdays open bowl

• 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays open bowl.

The community center is not doing lane rentals or private parties this year.

Amanda Carter with Clinton Community Center said this measure was to get acclimated to using the new equipment.

However, next winter season in 2025 the community center will be offering lane rentals for parties and groups. The charge for that is not certain yet.
