County youth open preseason hoops
The county’s preseason basketball tournament tipped off earlier this week with local elementary and middle school boys and girls teams taking the court.
The tournament continues Thursday and will conclude Saturday at Anderson County High School.
Thursday’s schedule features a pair of Clinton Blaze intrasquad games, with the girls tipping off at 4:45 p.m. and the boys following at 5:45.
At 7 p.m., the Norris Lady Senators junior varsity squad will face Clinton, followed by a Clinton JV boys matchup with the Senators at 8.
Saturday’s slate opens with elementary action as Lake City takes on Grand Oaks at 9 a.m.
Andersonville will meet Fairview at 10, Claxton faces Briceville at 11, and Norwood squares off with Norris Elementary at noon.
Middle school teams will take the floor in the afternoon.
