Holiday spirit returns to Market Street with Christmas Open House
Historic Downtown Clinton will have a holiday feel to it this Saturday and Sunday (Nov. 1-2), as the stores host their annual Christmas Open House event.
Hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
As with the recent Clinch River Fall Festival, access to Market Street will be on foot only, as construction work continues.
But all stores will be open and accessible by sidewalk at their front entrances, and some also by their rear entrances.
All of the participating merchants are geared up for a steady stream of visitors on both days, including many coming from outside the local area.
Officially kicking off their 2025 holiday season, the merchants will have merchandise on display on sidewalk tables and throughout their stores.
Christmas decorations will be in view all over downtown, inside and outside the various stores.
Sponsor of the event is the Historic Downtown Clinton Merchants Association.
The merchants also have another Christmas event planned, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 – their annual Holiday Market.
It will include the downtown stores, along with street vendors, food trucks and more.
Also that Saturday, from 1-4 p.m., the merchants will sponsor the annual Cookie Crawl, featuring free cookies and other refreshments in the stores.
There will be visits from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and The Grinch, as well.
