They posted a 59-45 home victory over Oneida on Tuesday, Dec. 2, before falling in a road matchup at Powell three nights later.
Anderson County (3-3) opened the week by outlasting the Lady Indians behind two double-figure scorers. Addison Grooms poured in 20 points, while Macy Basford added 14.
Emerie Bullock filled the stat sheet with nine points, nine rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Julia Owens also finished with nine points.
Despite dropping Friday’s game to the Lady Panthers 47-33 at Jeff Hunter Gymnasium, Anderson County showed improvement defensively and on the glass. Offensively, however, the shots didn’t fall.
“We played great defense and we rebounded well,” Lady Mavericks Coach Mitch Cupples said. “We just didn’t shoot well, and we turned the ball over too much. Both teams played good defense, and I was really pleased with our defense. It was 11-11 with two-and-a-half minutes left in the second quarter. We started the game with three layups. We made two and missed one, and then we turned it over several straight times.”
Bethany Lowe led Anderson County with nine points. Bullock added eight points and collected nine rebounds in the loss.

Norris guard Cooper Downs pushes past a defender on a drive to the basket during a recent game. Downs has been a steady spark for the Senators, who have opened the 2025-26 season with nine wins in their first 10 outings. The Senators continued their strong start last week, routing Jacksboro 48-31 before edging Robertsville 40-39 on Dec. 1. Downs scored 13 points in the win over the Eagles and added 10 against the Rams, helping Norris rebound quickly after its lone loss of the season on Nov. 24.
