JD’s Realty and Auction moves to Main St.
Clinton real-estate agent, auctioneer and developer Jason Deel has moved his JD’s Realty & Auction business to 134 South Main St. from its longtime location at 316 Market St.
The move, into the former location of the Ooten Law Firm across from John’s Tire Service, tripled the floor space for Deel’s offices, to 3,000 square feet, he said.
The new space will also be the location of Deel’s Liberty Pack & Ship business, which he said may soon be open to the public.
“We’re excited about being able to expand JD’s and bringing in Liberty Pack & Ship,” he said. “It had been up and running on Cullom Street, but only for us. Now it will possibly be open to everyone.”
Also in the new space, Deel said he will be creating “a studio for people to do podcasts, and produce content” for online and social media.
Deel said the current long-running reconstruction project that has kept Market Street closed to traffic for nearly a year didn’t have anything to do with his decision to relocate his business.
“I have been looking for a bigger space for a long time,” he said.
As for the now-vacant former JD’s location, “I’m not sure what will go into 316 Market,” Deel said. “Tracy Farley owns it. I do own the building next door, where June Adcock operates Fine Things.”
Deel’s wife, Natalie, was still opening boxes and organizing the new offices late last week.
“It’s a process,” she said.
In the meantime, the Deels are also in the midst of closing their Coal Creek General Store in Rocky Top, which they opened in September 2023.
Closing date for that is Jan. 31, and the store is conducting a close-out sale now with 35% off of most of its remaining merchandise.
