Kitts named to JMU President’s List
Matthew Kitts of Oak Ridge has been named to the President’s List at James Madison University for the fall 2025 semester. To be eligible for the President’s List, students must complete at least 12 graded credit hours and earn a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher. James Madison University is located in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Uptgraft named to president’s list
Peyton Uptgraft of Oak Ridge was named to the president’s list at McKendree University for the fall 2025 semester.
To earn the honor, students must achieve a perfect 4.0 grade point average. McKendree University is located in Lebanon, Illinois.
Holder completes FROG Week
Mark Holder of Heiskell recently completed Freshman Recruit Orientation Group (FROG) Week at University of North Georgia.
FROG Week was held Jan. 6-10 at the university’s Dahlonega campus and welcomed more than 40 new cadets. The program introduces freshmen to the Corps of Cadets through physical challenges and information sessions focused on academic and military life. The University of North Georgia is located in Dahlonega.
Bullock, Newton named to Samford Dean’s List
Ethan Bullock of Andersonville and Vivian Newton of Oak Ridge were named to the Dean’s List at Samford University for the fall 2025 semester.
A total of 2,575 students earned the honor. To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must earn a minimum 3.5 grade-point average while completing at least 12 credit hours. Samford University is located in Homewood, Alabama.
Green named to
President’s List
Kannon Green of Oak Ridge was named to the President’s List at the College of Charleston for the fall 2025 semester. Green is majoring in early childhood education.
To qualify for the president’s list, students must earn a GPA of 3.8 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 semester hours. The College of Charleston is located in Charleston, South Carolina.
Local students named to Dean’s List
Middle Tennessee State University has announced 6,647 undergraduate students were named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester.
To qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 while completing a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Local students who earned the honor include:
Clinton: Will Beard, Rishon Bright, Sean Cain, Freddy Delatorre, Camille Elliott, Jonathan Jennings, Caleb Relford and Amber Shelton.
Oak Ridge: Rishon Bright, Bryant Carter, Jp Daigle, Ashley Gaetz, Jonah Hano, John Harris, Janashia Henderson, Sol Miller, Spencer Shults, Katherine Spencer, Cedric White and Norah Younger.
Middle Tennessee State University is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Wei named to
Dean’s List
Zoe Wei of Oak Ridge has been named to the University at Buffalo’s Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester.
Wei was among 6,320 students recognized for academic achievement during the semester.
To qualify for the dean’s list, full-time undergraduate students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.6 while completing a minimum of 12 letter-graded credit hours.
The University at Buffalo is located in Buffalo, New York.
