Jones announces District 4 bid

Amy Jones
“Like many of you, I care deeply about protecting the future of the place we call home,” Jones said in her campaign announcement.
“I am proud to step forward and serve the people of District 4. Our County Commission should be composed of citizens and business owners who genuinely represent the community. I have no conflicts of interest, and I pledge to serve with integrity, transparency and accountability.
“As a longtime businesswoman and community volunteer, I believe government should operate with the same principles that make a business succeed: accountability, transparency and responsibility to the people it serves,” she said.
She first ran for County Commission in 2022 because she believed District 4 deserved leadership that would put citizens first, she said.
“I’m running again because I still believe our community deserves a voice that will stand up for taxpayers and uphold strong ethical standards,” Jones said.
She brings more than three decades of community involvement to her campaign.
Jones and her family are active members of Main Street Baptist Church in Rocky Top, and she has volunteered extensively across civic, church and nonprofit organizations.
Her volunteer efforts include supporting Briceville and Medford Fire Department suppers, founding Christmas for Rocky Top Kids, and participating in community events in New River, among many others.
Her professional background spans entrepreneurship, as well as work as a licensed insurance and real estate agent, along with leadership roles on numerous boards and committees.
This experience informs her commitment to conservative fiscal policy and careful stewardship of taxpayer dollars, she said.
“District 4 deserves a strong new voice on the commission,” Jones said. “Someone who understands budgets and can save taxpayers money without increasing taxes. Hardworking families shouldn’t bear the burden of unnecessary spending.”
Jones said her platform includes a proven record of service and integrity; serving without conflicts of interest or influence from special interests; supporting responsible growth while protecting small-town character; listening to residents and ensuring every voice matters; professional experience in insurance, real estate and small business; a commitment to smart spending and government transparency; deep local roots and lifelong Republican values; dedication to public service and volunteerism; and strong pro-life and pro-liberty principles.
Jones’ past leadership includes positions as a member of the GOP State Executive Committee, vice chair of the Anderson County Republican Party, treasurer of the Anderson County Federated Republican Women, and a Chamber of Commerce ambassador, among other civic roles.
“I am committed to listening to all District 4 residents,” Jones said. “Citizens deserve leadership that hears them and stands up for what is right, even when it’s not the popular choice. I will serve with honesty, accountability and dedication.”
Jones is asking residents to support her bid for County Commission, emphasizing a platform of transparency, integrity and principled leadership.
District 4 voters can vote for two Republican candidates.
The two candidates with the most votes will be on the August general election ballot, and likely will become county commissioners.
