Clinton Library Events

The following events will be at the Clinton Public Library at 118 N. Hicks St. For more information, call 865-457-0519 or email director@clintonpubliclibrary.org.

The library is closed on Sunday and open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It opens at 11:30 a.m. on the second Friday of every month due to a staff meeting.



Children’s events

Weekly themed stories, songs and a matching craft will be available for pre-kindergarten through early elementary ages.

Younger and older siblings are also welcome. The themes are April 8, library; April 15, big wind; April 22, kangaroos; and April 29, gardening.

Book babies is on Thursdays at 10 a.m. featuring weekly themed stories and songs for ages birth to 2. The themes are April 9, library; April 16, big wind; April 23, kangaroos; and April 29, gardening.

Music and movement will be on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Join to dance and make some noise.

Pajama Storytime is at 6 p.m. on April 10. Come in pajamas for a bedtime story.

All ages

Computer class is at noon on April 10. Learn about the Tennessee Electronic Library and its resources.

Lego Club will meet on Thursdays at 4 p.m. Join to build for free with LEGOS.

Board Game Club will meet at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 11. Join for casual board games. This month’s game will be Catan.



Teens

Teen Space will meet on Wednesdays at 2:15 p.m. Come hang out with friends, play Nintendo Wii games and eat snacks.



Adult programs

Adult Crafty Friday is at 5:30 p.m. on April 17. Join to make woven paint art. Sign up online or at the front desk.

Adult Book Club is at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11. Join on the first Saturday of every month to discuss books relating to a theme. This month’s theme is “Too Funny.” May’s theme will be books with “nature” in the title.

Clinch River Needleworkers will meet on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m.

You can work on various textile projects and the group is open to new members.

Tennessee History Program meets on Mondays at 10 a.m. Join as the group moves county by county through local Tennessee history.



General

announcements

Notary services are available at the library on Saturdays by appointment only. Fill out a request form at the library and staff will contact you to make an appointment.

Food for fines is a new program from April 1 through 30. Bring non-perishable foods to pay off fines. One item of food is equal to $2 of overdue fine. Make sure to check food for expiration dates. The library is also continuing its giving pantry in which people can donate stable food and household need items.

The library has a wish list of items on Amazon it would like to help its operations. For a link to that list go to https://clintonpubliclibrary.org/.

That same website has ways for the public to request the library add items to its collection and for teachers to make outside reading materials easy to get for students.

Delivery services are available for home bound people. For more information, fill out the form on the library website.

You can also use the website to schedule a one-on-one meeting for help with electronic devices like phones, tablets, computers or computer programs.

United Way Mobile Office hours are from 9 until noon on Thursday April 9. A representative from United Way will be at the library’s table to assist community members.
