Oak Ridge High School’s boys soccer team has had its share of struggles on the pitch in 2026.

The Wildcats have won four of their first 10 matches this season, but they put themselves firmly in the driver’s seat in the District 3-AAA race by opening district play with a pair of wins last week.

Their biggest victory of the season came Thursday night when they outlasted previously unbeaten Knoxville Halls 3-2 at home.

Oak Ridge (4-6 overall, 2-0 in the district) bolted to a fast start Thursday night, scoring a pair of goals to take an early 2-0 lead.

Less than 2 minutes into the contest, the Wildcats grabbed a 1-0 advantage on a goal by Eli Pearson.

Alfredo Guerrero made it 2-0 less than 4 minutes later when he converted a penalty kick after the Red Devils were called for a handball in the box.

After Halls eventually pulled even, the Wildcats got the final goal of the match when Daniel Perez-Rodriguez scored in the 71st minute.

Oak Ridge opened the week with a 5-1 district victory over Karns.
