The 1976 Clinton Dragons won both the district regular-season and district tournament championships. That advanced Clinton to Region 3, where it defeated McMinn County 13-3 to claim the region title. The Dragons’ season ended in the TSSAA state quarterfinals with a 3-0 loss to McCallie, the eventual state champion. Clinton finished 20-8, posting the third-highest winning percentage in program history. Pictured on the front row is Freddy Fagan.
