To the Editor,
Although I relocated to Florida with my wife and now four boys at the end of 2023, Anderson County will always be home for the Bouchards.
Seeing that Ron Meredith declared his candidacy for District 2 County Commission, I could not sit idly by and remain silent when an opportunity to impact all of Anderson County has presented itself.
I wholeheartedly endorse Ron Meredith for Anderson County Commission – District 2 and encourage all my friends and family to vote for Ron. You’ll be glad you did. I recently shared some encouraging words of support privately with Ron, but want to publicly share them to shed light on the person behind the name, Ron Meredith, that will be on your ballot:
Ron,
I wanted to take a moment to send you well wishes on your upcoming election for County Commission. Seeing you declare your candidacy brought me tremendous hope for the future of Anderson County. In a world that seems to be turning more upside down by the day, you represent the very definition of integrity we could use more of. You’ve lived a life woven from the fibers of the highest moral character and speak from a place of genuine care for your community in the most selfless way, wanting betterment of those around you without expectation of anything in return. There’s no greater love on earth than the selfless service of one another. Anderson County would be in good hands behind your voice and advocacy on issues ahead. Thank you for having the courage and strength to run for office! More importantly, thank you for having gone above and beyond in your kindness and friendship towards me when I was nothing more than a young man trying to make a difference (you were one of the first to do so and it has never been forgotten).
I had no intentions of endorsing a candidate but the impact you will make on County Commission is an opportunity we can’t let pass us by! You made a tremendous impact on me 17 years ago when I was just a senior in high school running for office and forged a friendship that still remains because you carry yourself the only way you know how, authentic and true to your character - which shines through not when we think eyes are watching us but in daily life when we think no one is. Thank you for caring about the community so much over the years and for being willing to be a voice for Anderson County – no one is more knowledgeable about our county than yourself. Your accomplishments over your professional and personal careers make you beyond qualified to hold office; but the content of your character and the person you are makes it an honor for our community to cast a ballot for your voice to be one of leadership on the Anderson County Commission.
