Clinton Library Events

Summer Reading 

The library will host a summer reading program, called “Unearth a Story… At the Library.” Registration is open and will be through June 27 online at www.clintonpubliclibrary.org or fill out a form at the library. All ages will read for a total of 15 hours. Turn in your reading log between July 18 and Aug. 1. Kids and teens can pick up their prize during the finale on July 18 or during regular library hours through Aug. 1. The library will enter adults into a drawing for a gift card prize and will notify them during the second week of August if they win. Call 865-457-0519 or email questions@clintonpubliclibrarytn.org for more information.

Children’s Events 

A series of archeology and paleontology events will occur this summer at 3 p.m. on different Tuesdays and Thursdays. Families can register at www.clintonpubliclibrary.org or in person at the library up to the day before the event.  



On June 11 will be a presentation by Gray Fossil Site experts.  

June 16 will be Super Science TN with Mr. Rich, during which children can meet a dinosaur, create a meteor and build focusing on archeology.  

June 23 will be  an afternoon of kinetic sand play digging for fossils. 



On June 25 will be an interactive dinosaur cup puppet craft. 



On July 7 will be dinosaur pasta fossil art. 



On July 16 will be dinosaur silhouette art.  



Other events will not require registration. 



Family Storytime will feature weekly songs stories and a matching craft for pre-K through early elementary ages. Younger and older siblings are also welcome. The themes are June 10 Fresh Dirt, June 17 Digging for Information, June 24 Paleontology, July 1 250th Birthday, July 8 Archeology, July 15 Dinos Today. 



Book Babies will be on Thursdays at 10 a.m. with weekly stories and songs for ages birth through two. The themes are June 11 Fresh Dirt, June 18 Digging for Information, June 25 Paleontology, July 9 Archeology and July 16 Dinos Today. On July 2 the library will be closed.



Music and Movement will be on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. with dance and instruments. 

All ages 

Computer Class will meet on June 5 at noon to talk about cell phones and their features. 

Board Game Club will meet on June 13 at 11 a.m. to play Sky Team. 



Dungeons and Dragons, recommended for teens and up, will meet at 5 p.m. on Mondays. Embark on quests, fight monsters and solve problems through collaborative storytelling.  



Chopped at Home Contest will be at 5:30 p.m. on June 26. The library will provide a recipe card and ingredients and contestants will cook the recipe. Register June 1 through June 18. Pick up supplies June 21 through June 25. 

Teens and up 



Teen Escape Room: The Last Expedition will be on June 30 and July 9 at 3 p.m. Work together with friends to solve an archeological mystery recommended for ages 12 and up. 



Talk to a Geologist will be on July 14 at 3 p.m. Come hear a geologist talk about fossils and related topics. 

Adult events 



Clinch River Needleworkers will meet on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. and Saturdays at 10 a.m. to work on textile craft projects. They are open to new members. 

Tennessee History program meets on Mondays at 10 a.m. moving county by county through Tennessee history. 



Junk Journaling Club meets every other Tuesday at 5:20 p.m. Bring paper craft projects to work alongside the group. 



Adult Book Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. on July 11. Choose books with the theme “Before BC.” 



Adult crafting sessions at 5:30 p.m. June 12 and July 10 have supplies provided for people who register online or in person. Make keepsake coasters on June 12 or clay aromatherapy disks July 10.
