Local baseball stars garner state honors

Several area high school baseball players have earned postseason all-state honors from the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association and the Tennessee Baseball Report.

Anderson County’s Nolan Benson and senior Kris Pelliccio garnered Class 3A first-team all-state honors from the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.

Oak Ridge’s Mikee Teasley and Parker Free earned Class 4A first-team all-state recognition from the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association.

Wildcats Joe Webb and Warren East were named to the Class 4A second team.

Teasley also earned all-state recognition as a pitcher from the Tennessee Baseball Report. He was also selected to the publication’s All-2-Way Team.

Oak Ridge’s Jaiden Cheverton was named to the Tennessee Baseball Report’s Super Freshman/Sophomore Team.

The Tennessee Baseball Report also recognized four local players on its All-Region 2 Team. Teasley and Free represented Oak Ridge, while Benson and Clinton’s Will Brooks also earned all-region honors.
