Hagan seeks school board seat

A resident of District 1 for 60 years, Ray knows this community well. He knows the people, the values, and the pride Anderson County families have in their schools and in the future of their children.
District 1 is more than where Ray lives — it is home. It’s where he built his life, raised his family, and invested in the future of the community he loves.
Today, he is proud to see the next generation of his family putting down roots in the same place that has meant so much to him.
Ray believes strong schools are one of the most-important parts of a strong community. He understands that parents want safe schools, high academic standards, responsible leadership, and a school system that keeps students first.
He believes School Board members should listen to parents, support teachers, be good stewards of taxpayer dollars, and always keep the long-term success of students at the center of every decision.
“District 1 has always been a wonderful place to live and raise a family,” Ray said. “I care deeply about this community, and I believe our schools play a big part in shaping the future of Anderson County. I want to do my part to help make sure our students have every opportunity to succeed and that our schools continue to reflect the values and expectations of the families they serve.”
As a candidate for Anderson County School Board, Ray is focused on practical leadership, accountability, and doing what is best for students, parents, and teachers. He believes in supporting academic excellence, promoting safe and orderly classrooms, and making sure local schools have the tools and leadership they need to prepare students for the future.
Ray also believes the School Board should remain connected to the people it serves. He wants to be a voice for District 1 families by staying accessible, listening to concerns, and making decisions that reflect the priorities of local parents and the needs of local students. He believes families deserve representation from someone who will listen carefully, ask questions, and put the interests of children and community first.
With a lifetime of connection to Anderson County and a strong commitment to District 1, Hagan is ready to serve with integrity, common sense, and a deep respect for the families, educators, and students.
