Christmas in July returns to Clinton
Downtown Clinton merchants are opening their doors for a special “Christmas in July” event on Saturday, July 25, to give shoppers a head start on the coming holiday season.
The event, sponsored by the Historic Downtown Clinton Merchants Association and the Antique Merchants Guild of Clinton, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Market Street shut down to vehicular traffic for the day to accommodate street vendors and food trucks.
Stores on Market and Main streets will have new Christmas merchandise available as well as town-wide sales, holiday decor, holiday music and festive treats.
That event will be followed on Friday, July 31, by the Sip of Summerfest at the Kincaid House, 710 Eagle Bend Road, from 6-10 p.m.
Produced by the separate Historic Downtown Clinton organization, it’s the fifth-annual summer beer-tasting event, featuring area breweries, live music, contests and more.
On its website, the organization says it’s, “Sending out an S.O.S. to classic rock fans! AM Station will be cranking out rock tunes from the ’50s, ’60s and ’70s for Sip of Summerfest this year! Good beer. Great friends. Classic rock.”
Among participating breweries are Orange Hat Brewery, Tri Dog Brewing Company, Tennessee Brew Works, Lenoir City Barrel House, Clinch River Brewing, and Country Boy Brewing of Georgetown, Kentucky.
Food will be provided by Hamock’s, Hoskins Drug Store, Happi Hostess, Little Bird Macarons, Apple Blossom Café, and Gather on Market.
Tickets for that event are on sale now, with general admission $50, and $25 for kids and designated drivers (no alcohol included). Purchased online at zeffy.com/en-US/ticketing/sip-of-summerfest.
