Although Access began operating the Clinton location in early January, the company waited until this month to hold its formal grand-opening event.
“This gives us five locations in Tennessee,” Access Senior Vice President Howie Freeman said during the Thursday event. “We now have 60 rural health clinics in eight states.”
Employees at the clinic said in mid-January that the new owner reopened the facility after the previous LaFollette-based operator had closed the location in early December.
Medical Assistant Jesse Roberts and receptionist Riley Quintois said at the time that they were glad to get jobs with the new owners after losing their positions when the previous owner closed the business.
Neighborhood Urgent Care also had a location at 2702 Jacksboro Pike in Jacksboro, and that center was taken over by Access Medical Clinic, as well.
Access Medical Clinic offers primary-care services at both locations, and does offer some walk-in service, although it does not operate specifically as an urgent-care center, Freeman said. Patients are urged to make appointments, if possible, he added.
Clinic hours are Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., with a lunch break each day from noon-12:30 p.m. The clinic is closed on Saturdays.
