Children’s Museum Events by Ben Pounds
• Flattop House Day July 19 and Aug. 16 1 - 4 p.m. Visit the historic B-1 Flattop House, an authentic example of housing for Manhattan Project workers and their families. The Flattop House is an add-on experience to a regular Children’s Museum visit.
• Third Sunday, July 19 1-4 p.m. and Aug. 16 1-4 p.m.Visit the Museum’s Kids Go Green! Environmental Center and Gardens, the solar house and train garden, the Knoxville Area Model Railroaders’ clubhouse, and enjoy special activities with the Oak Ridge Amateur Radio Club and the Knoxville Philatelic Society. Free with admission.
• Wonderful Wednesday, 15, 22, 11 a.m.
Held in the Museum’s gym, each week features a different theme from music to science to animals and more. The event is free with admission.
Charlie’s Book Club Saturday, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
This month’s free book for children ages 6-10 is now available. August’s book is: The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. There will be one book per child while supplies last. This program is made possible by the Sandy Shapiro Guryan Reading Fund.
