Civitan Club helps special education teachers

Projects funded ranged from a non-traditional classroom allowing for special education students to learn at their own pace at Clinch River Community School, to a coffee and dirty soda cart, which will help teach students vocational skills at Claxton Elementary.
The funding recipients were:
• Andy Alpers and Hannah Pack, Anderson County High School.
• Brianna Alpers and Gabrielle Wolfe, Claxton Elementary.
• Hope Bailey, Clinch River School.
• Erin Canfield, Grand Oaks Elementary.
• Shannon Cook, a teacher and special Olympics coach at North Clinton Elementary.
• Ray McDonald, Clinton High School.
• Megan Sauer, Willowbrook Elementary.
• Becca Seiber, Lake City Middle School.
The event also recognized four graduating seniors on a path to study special education or a related field.
The Civitan Scholarship awardees included Cora Green at Oak Ridge High School), Isabel Worthington at Clinton High School and Trysta Brown at Anderson County High School.
The Allison Doak Scholar was Ella Rose Moore.
