Dance tryouts
Blaze Dance tryouts for Clinton City Schools grades four to six will be Aug. 19-21 from 3:15 until 4:30 p.m. at Clinton Elementary School gym, 210 N Hicks St.
Wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes and bring water and be ready to show off your dance moves.

Artistic swimming
The Clinton Community Center’s Indoor Pool will be closed to the public on Wednesday, Aug.19 from 7 p.m. through 8 p.m. for artistic swimming practice.
Overdose awareness
An International Overdose Awareness Day observance will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, at First Baptist Church, 225 N. Main St., in Clinton, presented by Allies for Substance Abuse Prevention of Anderson County.
Admission is free and dinner will be from Texas Roadhouse.
“This year, we unite to honor the 53 lives lost in Anderson County in 2024,” an ASAP announcement stated. “It’s a community event to join together, share stories of hope, and learn about community resources. We want you to be there.”
