Clinton says goodbye to Master Donuts

Carla Evans, owner of the building, said she was informed by the business’ owners last Thursday that “they were closing this location permanently.”
The doughnut shop actually closed its doors for the last time on Aug. 1, but the owners had told Evans that they “were going to be remodeling and would be closed only for a couple of months.”
Evans said she has no plans yet for another tenant in the space.
The rest of the center, which her mother had built more than 30 years ago, is fully occupied by several businesses, including an Asian restaurant, a coin shop, a tattoo shop, a finance office, and a nail salon.
On a typical day, the store made up to 40 dozen doughnuts, along with other baked items such as apple fritters, cinnamon rolls, bear claws, bagels, biscuits and croissants, some of them used in other breakfast-style foods, such as sausage, egg and cheese biscuits and croissants.
The shop was open from 6 a.m. to about 2 p.m. each day, except Sunday and Tuesday, and was well known for its doughnuts throughout the community.
