116 down to one lane during construction

Tennessee Department of Transportation stated State Route 116, New River Highway, is down to one lane but will be back to normal by Sept. 30.
Contractors have been excavating the slide area and filling with graded solid rock.
Other work includes construction on retaining walls before reconstructing the roadway, Mark Nagli, regional communications officer for East Tennessee with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, stated.
“This is an area that has been prone to slides,” Nagli told The Courier News.
